Red Squad delivers 47-0 Spring Football Victory

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Sophomore runningback Eric Shelton ran for 121 yards on 15 carries and Stephan LeFors completed 15-of-18 passes for 270 yards in the first half as the Red team beat the White team 47-0 in the annual University of Louisville Spring Football game on Friday evening in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

A U of L spring game record crowd of 8,500 fans got their first look at first-year head coach Bobby Petrino's Cardinals. The Red team, which featured the first-team offensive and defensive units, amassed 527 offensive yards in the intrasquad contest.

The first quarter was played under similated game conditions with a 15-minute clock. The second 15-minute period featured a running clock and the two final quarters were played with a 12 minute running clock.
