First-year head coach Bobby Petrino unveiled the new-look uniforms to be sported by University of Louisville football team during the upcoming 2003 season in a press conference from the Frazier Recruiting Lounge in the Football Complex at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium on Thursday.
The new jersey, four of which will be given away at the Annual Red-White Spring Game Friday night at 8:00 p.m. at PJCS, sports a large LOUISVILLE plate across the front chest and does not include a Cardinal logo in the V-neck of the jersey as in years past. The numbers on the front and back remain unchanged, however, the new look features color inserts on the shoulders and numbers on the sleeves. For the first time in six years, players' names will appear on the back of the jerseys.
The pants, which were solid in recent years, feature an insert down the leg which matches the insert on the shoulders. The Cardinal logo will also appear prominently on the left thigh as opposed to on each hip in years past.
