Overall, the touchdown was his 36th, which put him one shy of the Tulane career record for touchdowns, set by Bill Banker (37) from 1927-29.
- Mewelde Moore passed the 4,000-yard mark in career rushing yards and surpassed the 2,000-yard mark in career receiving to become just the second player in Division I-A history to achieve those milestones. Moore joined Stanford's Darrin Nelson (1977-78, 1980-81) as the only two players in that exclusive club.
- Moore is also climbing the NCAA Division I-A career all-purpose list as he passed Archie Griffin (Ohio State), Troy Edwards (Louisiana Tech), Anthony Thompson (Indiana), T. Prentice of Miami (Ohio) and Glyn Milburn on the list to move into the top 12. He has 6,189 career all-purpose yards.
