- Louisville quarterback Dave Ragone completed 14 passes to eight different receivers. Ragone falls to 20-6 as the Cards' starting quarterback.
- Broderick Clark's 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the first play of the second half was the fourth 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in school history and the first since 1968.
- With a second-quarter touchdown pass to tight end Ronnie Ghent, Dave Ragone tied Southern Miss' Jeff Kelly for fifth-place on the C-USA TD responsibility chart with his 60th career touchdown.
- Junior defensive end Dewayne White's second-quarter sack of UK quarterback Jared Lorenzen was the 28th of his career, tying him with East Carolina's Roderick Coleman for fourth-place on the league's career sack list.
- Sophomore Lionel Gates rushed for eight yards on eight carries in his first collegiate start.
- The sold-out crowd of 42,660 was the largest ever in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The top three crowds in the facility have come when the Cards faced Kentucky (42,643 in 1998, 42,510 in 2000). U of L had won eight straight at home entering the game and has a 21-6 record in its fifth season in the state-of-the-art facility.
