LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville's Sept. 1 season opener against Kentucky is sold out. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN2 at 6 p.m.
"We appreciate the support of our fans," said U of L Director of Athletics Tom Jurich. "The development of our football program under John L. Smith's leadership has been phenominal. Our football team has worked hard, received unprecedented national exposure and there is a real buzz around our program. It's great to see so many people wanting to be a part of our game-day experience."
The Cardinals have sold over 34,000 season tickets. Nearly 2,500 tickets in the 42,000-seat facility are tied to marketing or corporate sales packages, while 5,500 are initially held for visiting teams. Kentucky took the entire visiting team allotment, while Florida State claimed 3,500, leaving 2,000 seats beyond the season opener.
Five-game Mini Plans -- including games against Florida State, TCU, East Carolina, Cincinnati and UAB -- are now available for $147 each.
Tickets may be purchased by visiting the U of L ticket office located near Gate 2 of Papa John's Cardinal Stadium adjacent to Floyd Street. Ticket orders will also be accepted by telephone with a credit card through the U of L ticket office at (502) 852-5151.
