
Calderon Named C-USA Softball Hitter of the Week

University of Louisville softball player Keola Calderon has been named Conference USA Hitter of the Week for the period ending April 7. The junior outfielder from Orcutt, Calif., scored the winning run in the ninth inning of Louisville's 5-4 win over Indiana. She also accounted for the game-winning run in the Cards' 3-2 win over Southern Miss. Against the Hoosiers, she finished the game batting 3-for-5, scoring two runs and two RBI. In conference action, Calderon tied the game against the Golden Eagles with an RBI double and then scored the clutch run for the Cardinals' first-ever victory over Southern Miss. For the week, she posted one double, five RBI and four runs scored.
The Cardinals (19-19, 6-4 C-USA) will travel to Lexington, Ky. to face Kentucky on Wednesday, April 10. The first game of the doubleheader is slated for a 5:00 p.m. start.
