BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Jarrad Odle posted his second double-double of the week, scoring a career-high 25 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, as he led the Indiana Hoosiers to a 77-62 victory over Louisville on Saturday.
It was the 10th straight home victory for the Hoosiers (16-7), who have won their last five home games by at least 10 points.
Louisville (13-9) matched its second-fewest points of the season as the Hoosiers limited Reece Gaines, Conference USA's No. 3 scorer, to 17 points - four less than his average.
Indiana did that despite playing 12 minutes in the first half without its top defensive player, Dane Fife, who was in foul trouble, and with its top player, Jared Jeffries, hampered by a bruised right thigh.
Jeffries, who was a gametime decision, left 3:40 into the game after also injuring his right ankle and missed more than six minutes - a stretch during which Louisville rode out a 6-0 Indiana run and rallied from a 15-8 deficit to take an 18-17 lead.
The Hoosiers found themselves in a 23-19 deficit with 9:19 to go, but closed the half on 14-2 run to take a a 42-32 lead, then opened the second half by making three straight baskets to make it 49-32.
Louisville got as close as 61-55 with 5:27 left.
But Odle made two free throws then connected on a 3-point play - the first Indiana basket in 6:12 - to give the Hoosiers a double-digit lead they never relinquished.
Odle connected on 10 of 11 field goals. Indiana also got 16 points from Tom Coverdale and 11 each from Jeffries and Kyle Hornsby.
