Football Falls To Houston, 27-10

HOUSTON (AP) - Joffrey Reynolds ran for 149 yards to set the Conference USA single-season record and caught two touchdown passes to lead Houston past Louisville 27-10 Saturday in the final game for Cougars coach Dana Dimel.
Houston (5-7, 3-5) prevented two-time defending C-USA champion Louisville (7-5, 5-3) from earning a share of the conference title.
TCU got the conference's Liberty Bowl bid, but Louisville still has a shot at one of the other four C-USA bowls: the GMAC, Houston, New Orleans or Hawaii bowls.
Dimel was fired Sunday but stayed on for the final game. He finished 8-26 in three years at Houston, including an 0-11 record last season - the only winless campaign in the program's history.
Reynolds recorded his conference-record eighth 100-yard game and finished the season with 1,545 rushing yards, breaking the record of 1,432 yards set last season by East Carolina's Leonard Henry.
Nick Eddy completed 15 of 26 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns for Houston, including a 21-yarder to Reynolds that helped Houston to a 13-3 halftime lead. He also connected with Reynolds for a 25-yard score to give the Cougars a 20-3 lead with 1:14 left in the third quarter.
Dave Ragone led the Cardinals, going 15-of-29 for 184 yards and a touchdown. His 57-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Harris cut the deficit to 20-10 with 7 seconds left in the third.
But Eddy hit Brian Robinson with a 40-yard touchdown strike with 5:34 left to put the game away.
