
Pitino to Speak at Minardi Classic Luncheon Dec. 16

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville Coach Rick Pitino will be the featured speaker at the Billy Minardi Classic Luncheon on Monday, Dec. 16 at noon in the Brown and Williamson Club at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
Each coach from the three fellow participants -- Travis Ford of Eastern Kentucky, Bobby Gonzalez of Manhattan and Ed Schilling of Wright State -- will also speak at the luncheon. A special U of L poster will be provided to all present at the luncheon.
Tickets for the event are $25 each or $200 for a table of eight and may be purchased by calling U of L at (502) 852-1974.
Louisville faces Eastern Kentucky in the first game of the Billy Minardi Classic on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. in Freedom Hall, followed by Manhattan against Wright State. The two losers will play on Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m. with two winner to meet in the championship game at 8 p.m. The event, presented by Anthem and Papa John's Pizza, is named in memory of Pitino's brother-in-law who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack when a hijacked plane struck the north tower of New York's World Trade Center.
