
Maybin Named Second Team All-Conference USA

CHICAGO, Ill. - Louisville senior Marques Maybin was named to the 2000-01 All-Conference USA Second Team announced today from the C-USA office in Chicago.
Maybin leads the Cardinals in scoring and is fifth in the conference, averaging 17.9 points per game. He has scored 20 or more points in 14 of the Cards' 30 games, including a career-high 30 points against DePaul and Murray State earlier this year. Maybin has hit 63 three-pointers, fifth-best ever in a season at U of L, and has moved into third place on the all-time list with 154.
The 6-3 guard out of Clarksville, Tenn., currently ranks 12th all time in scoring at U of L with 1,612 points and needs just two points to move into 11th. He has 77 career double-figure scoring efforts and has eclipsed the 20-point plateau 25 times during his four years.
South Florida's Altron Jackson, Charlotte's Rodney White, Cincinnati's Steve Logan, Memphis' Kelly Wise and Marquette's Brian Wardle are members of C-USA's first-team, as voted by the league's coaches and media.
