
Padilla Named Hitter of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville softball player Candi Padilla earned Conference USA Hitter of the Week honors.
The senior leftfielder from Glendale Ariz. batted .409 in six games, and helped the Cards to four wins at the Capital Classic Softball Tournament in Sacramento. She went four-for-five with a double, two triples and three RBI in Louisville's 12-7 win over host Sacramento State. Padilla hit a solo home run to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning in U of L's 3-2 win over Sacramento State. She had nine hits including one homerun, two triples and three doubles. She also scored four runs, drove in seven runs and was named to the Capital Classic All-Tournament team.
The Cardinals (20-10) will begin league play on Saturday, March 24, when they travel to Houston to face the University of Houston Cougars.
