LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Maurice Jeffers, Matt Baniak and Marque Perry scored 13 points each and Saint Louis never trailed in a 72-51 win over Louisville at Freedom Hall on Saturday.
Josh Fisher added 11 points for the Billikens (12-9, 4-4 Conference USA), who swept the Cardinals for the first time since 1965. The Billikens beat Louisville 71-61 on Jan. 6 at Saint Louis.
Marques Maybin scored 20, but was the only player in double figures for Louisville (8-14, 4-5). The Cardinals lost at Freedom Hall for the seventh time this season, one shy of a school record.
Maybin, Louisville's leading scorer (19.1 points per game), missed nine of his first 10 shots. He found his touch in the second half, but got no help from his teammates.
Saint Louis led 27-25 at halftime and extended the lead to 41-31 in the first nine minutes of the second half. Maybin scored 13 straight points in a three-minute stretch, but Louisville still trailed 49-42 after his jumper from the wing with 7:30 left in the game.
Justin Tatum sank a free throw with 6:42 left, Baniak scored on a tip-in with 6:12 remaining and Perry hit two free throws with 5:59 left to push the Billikens' lead to 12.
The Cardinals got no closer than nine the rest of the way.
Maybin finished 7-of-22 from the floor. The rest of the Cardinals went 11-of-30. Reece Gaines, Louisville's second-leading scorer who's been hobbled lately with a back injury, had just eight points.
Saint Louis won for the second time in its last five games.
The Billikens led by as many as nine in the first half with the help of nine Louisville turnovers.
Reece Gaines' driving layup with 2:56 left in the opening half started a 9-2 Louisville run. Brown's 3-pointer with 57 seconds left drew the Cardinals to within two at 27-25.
The Cardinals went 9-of-24 in the first half (38 percent), but stayed close by outrebounding Saint Louis 21-14.
