
Rick Pitino Speaks From Men's Basketball Media Day

University of Louisville head coach Rick Pitino spoke about the upcoming men's basketball season Thursday afternoon at the annual media day in Cardinal Arena.
The Cardinals will stage its first-ever "Midnight Madness," a fan event surrounding the Cardinals' initial basketball practice session of the 2001-02 season, on Friday, Oct. 12 at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
The Cardinal Fan Fest will begin at 7 p.m. in Room 2C of the Convention Center. Doors to the basketball arena in Room 2D will open at 10:30 p.m and new U of L Coach Rick Pitino will lead his team onto the court for their first practice at midnight.
Tickets to the event are free but must be picked up as patrons enter the event with one ticket per person. There are no advance tickets. Admission is limited to the first 5,000 fans. All seats are reserved and there are no pass outs. No cans, bottles or alcoholic beverages may be brought into the event. Early arrivers may begin to line up at 8 a.m. on Oct. 12 on the northeast corner of the Kentucky International Convention Center at Third and Market Streets.
