Louisville Notes
- Safety Curry Burns' 31-yard fumble return for a touchdown was the first fumble return for a TD since Courtney Dinkins had a nine-yard fumble return for a score at Army last year (10/7/99).
- With seven catches for 96 yards today, WR Arnold Jackson moved into the top ten all-time among Division IA receivers (23 catches this season for 228 yards). His 260 career catches moves him within 39 of breaking Nevada's Trevor Insley's NCAA Division IA mark of 298 career receptions (he is No. 9 all-time now). Jackson caught a school and Conference USA record 101 passes in 1999.
- WR Arnold Jackson caught a pass in his 39th consecutive game tonight, the second-longest active streak in the nation.
- WR Deion Branch (nine catches, 116 yards) posted his second 100+ yard receiving game of the season. He had nine catches for 123 yards against Kentucky in the season opener.
- Redshirt freshman K Wade Tydlacka's 51-yard field goal on the final play of the first half was one-yard short of the U of L record field goal distance of 52, booted on three occasions (Klaus Wilmsmeyer vs. Virgina, 10/28/89, Ron Bell vs. Virginia Tech, 11/5/88, and Wilbur Summers vs. Tennessee-Chattanooga, 10/11/75). Former U of L kicker Jon Hilbert also hit a 51-yard FG against UAB last season.
- QB Dave Ragone scored his first career touchdown on a one-yard quarterback sneak.
- Louisville's 18 penalties tied a school record for a game, also produced against Cincinnati on Oct. 3, 1998.
