LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville has developed new options for obtaining tickets to its seven home football games this fall in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
Some single-game ticket prices will be lowered during the week of a game while season ticket holders will receive a discount. While maintaining aggressive budget requirements, U of L athletic officials have been reviewing options to provide affordable seating and address seats that are sold but go unused on game days.
The revised options are a result of listening to suggestions from a U of L fan forum and additional fan survey to improve affordability for all to attend Cardinal Football events. Even while U of L averaged 36,778 fans last season -- second-best ever -- and Cardinal fans filled Papa John's Cardinal Stadium to 87 percent of its capacity, U of L Director of Athletics Tom Jurich has sought to maintain a close pulse with Cardinal fans.
"We sincerely appreciate our fans' input," said Jurich. "The fan forum and survey helped us make decisions that will benefit all. During our discussions, a consensus built quickly as we wanted to provide affordable seats to the general public without jeopardizing our budget requirements or impacting our current season ticket holders. Our schedule is complete and we want to make everyone aware of these new options early."
The top ten rows of four end zone sections -- the "Top Ten for Ten" -- will go on sale the Monday preceding each game for $10 each. The end zone seats would only be available if tickets were not sold prior to game week.
Prices for season tickets are $175, a $10 discount from single-game sales. U of L faculty, staff and L-Club members may purchase season tickets for $147. A special family plan, including four season tickets to all seven U of L home contests, is $455.
U of L students may purchase a season ticket for $25 and a guest ticket for $50 prior to June 1, after which tickets will be available for $50 for a student ticket and $100 for a guest seat for all seven Cardinal home games.
For individual game sales, the Sept. 4 Kentucky game and Oct. 14 Cincinnati game will be priced at $30 each, while the remaining five home games are $25 each. U of L faculty and staff may purchase single-game tickets for $24 and $21, respectively. Student single-game tickets are $8 and $10 for guests for all games.
