NEW YORK - Former University of Louisville standouts Chris Redman and Frank Moreau were among the 254 players selected in the 2000 National Football League Entry Draft held April 15-16. Redman was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round while Moreau was chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs in round four.
Redman, who holds every U of L passing record and graduates as the NCAA I-A all-time leader in passes attempted and completed, becomes the Cardinals' highest draft selection since 1997 when the Miami Dolphins selected current All-Pro cornerback Sam Madison in the second round. The Louisville native was picked with the 75th overall choice.
Moreau, the Cardinals' No. 5 all-time rusher with nearly 2,600 yards, was the 115th player drafted overall and the first of two running backs chosen by the Chiefs.
Redman and Moreau were among nine Conference USA players selected over the two-day draft.
