
Erik Brown Eligible to Compete For Cardinals

LOUISVILLE, KY -- University of Louisville sophomore swingman Erik Brown has been cleared to play immediately for the Cardinals' basketball team.
Brown enrolled at U of L for the 1999 fall semester, was dismissed for academic reasons following that semester, and returned to the U of L campus this summer to improve his academic standing and become eligible for competition. He can participate in the Cardinals' Dec. 16 contest at South Alabama.
A 6-5 sociology major from Lexington, Ky., Brown is a transfer from Morehead State University, where he led all NCAA Division I freshmen in scoring in 1998-99, averaging 19.3 points.
He earned first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors that season and was the league's Freshman of the Year.
Brown also led Morehead State in rebounding (5.4 average) and steals (44) as a freshman. He averaged 24 points, 8.3 rebounds and three assists as a senior at Bryan Station High School in Lexington.
