Louisville, KY --- Senior Kelly McClain marked her final game in Cardinal Arena with 12 kills to lead the University of Louisville to a 15-5, 15-0, 15-2 win over Kentucky at Cardinal Arena.
The Cardinals boost their record to 26-7 and await their NCAA opponent which will be announced Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. Kentucky ends its season at 6-21.
"We were able to maintain our momentum that has us winning 19 of our last 20 matches and kept control of the match the whole time," said head coach Leonid Yelin. "I think Kentucky was tapped out and the emotional well was dry. However, they are a young team and will be that much better next year with the experience."
Louisville dispatched the Cats in 61 minutes. At one point, the Cardinals scored 25 straight points including the 15-0 bagel in the second game. The Cardinals hit a blistering .463 with 37 kills on 67 swings. They recorded four aces including two by Anastasia Zaitseva.
In the earlier match, Marquette beat Eastern Kentucky 15-6, 15-7, 9-15, 15-7 to conclude the Conference USA Challenge.
