Louisville Notes
- With seven catches for 55 yards today, WR Arnold Jackson became the all-time leader in Division IA receptions (62 catches this season for 593 yards). His 299 career catches surpasses Nevada's Trevor Insley's previous NCAA Division IA mark of 298 career receptions. The record-breaking catch was a six-yard reception in the fourth quarter. Jackson caught a school and Conference USA record 101 passes in 1999.
- WR Arnold Jackson caught a pass in his 45th consecutive game today, the longest active streak in the nation. He has caught five or more passes in 29 of his last 32 contests.
- Louisville completed its third season in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium with a 6-1 mark in 2000. In its three seasons in the 42,000-seat facility, the Cardinals have posted a 15-5 record.
- Louisville, the nation's most-penalized team, committed a season-low five penalties for 45 yards (previous low: six vs. Cincinnati and East Carolina).
- Sophomore WR Damien Dorsey set a career high with four catches for 68 yards.
- Louisville played the game without DT Michael Josiah -- Conference USA's sack leader (13) -- who missed the game with a sprained ankle.
- RB Tony Stallings scored two touchdowns, snapping a five-game scoring drought.
- K Nate Smith booted his first career field goal, a 27-yarder in the fourth quarter.
- U of L honored the jersey of former Cardinal defensive back Dwayne Woodruff, a three-year letterman for the Cards from 1976-78. As a junior, he accounted for 97 tackles in 1997 as the Cardinals advanced to the Independence Bowl. A sixth round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1979, Woodruff spent 11 of the next 12 sasons as a member of the Steelers, earning team MVP honors in 1992. His 37 career interceptions ranks fifth all-time for the Steelers.
Army Notes
- RB Michael Wallace is just two yards short of becoming the eighth player in Army history to rush for 1,000 yards in a single game. He produced 82 yards on 21 carries today, breaking his streak of four straight rushing games of 100+ yards entering the game.
- Army's 10 completions gives the Black Knights 160 for the season, three shy of the single-season record of 163 set in 1976.
