Louisville Notes
- WR Damien Dorsey's nine-yard touchdown reception marked his first official touchdown reception. He caught an eight-yard scoring pass last year in the Humanitarian Bowl.
- QB Dave Ragone's three interceptions marked a career-high.
- QB Mike Watkins replaced starting QB Dave Ragone in the start of the second half. (Ragone had his right collarbone x-rayed at the half) Watkins finished the game completing 14 of 24 passes for 159 yards.
- WR Arnold Jackson caught a pass in his 42nd consecutive game tonight, the second-longest active streak in the nation. He has caught five or more passes in 28 of his last 31 contests.
- QB Mike Watkins' two touchdown rushes marked his third and fourth rushing touchdowns of his career.
- The last time Louisville threw four interceptions was on Oct. 10, 1998 at Southern Miss.
East Carolina Notes
- East Carolina had four defensive players (John Williamson, Devone Claybrooks, Brandon Rainer and Travis Heath) record interceptions. For Claybrooks, Rainer and Heath the picks were the first of their careers. Williamson's interception was his third (he had a pair in 1999).
- The Pirates used a different punter than Wes Herlocker for the first time this season. Kevin Miller, ECU's sophomore placekicker, saw double-duty against Louisville and responded with a 45.6 average. He also recorded ECU's longest punt (65) of the season.
- Senior H-back Keith Stokes surpassed his totals of 1999 for receiving yards and touchdown catches. Stokes now has 379 yards receiving after registering 364 last season. Stokes has three touchdown receptions this season after catching two in 1999.
- Leonard Henry's four-yard TD run in the second quarter was the Pirate junior's fifth rushing scoreof the season. He only had four TDs in 1998 and just one last season.
- ECU had four interceptions in the contest, its first four-interception game since 1998 (Chattanooga).
- ECU junior quarterback David Garrard recorded his 13th career rushing touchdown, a 15-yard run in the second quarter.
