Kara Talley has been a member of the University of Louisville Athletics staff since 2016. She currently serves as Associate Director of Academic Services. In her role, Kara provides essential learning strategies for at-risk student-athletes in a competitive academic setting by providing individualized support to enhance student success and develop independent learners. Additionally, she serves as the Academic Counselor for volleyball. She is responsible for collaborating with campus resources, staff, and students to create a holistic learning experience.
Kara is a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) and a 2019 graduate of N4A’s Professional Development Institute. In her involvement with the LCEC, she served as the inaugural LCEC Newsletter Chair and the SADC Newsletter Co-Chair. Kara is a trained One Love facilitator and a 2020 graduate of the Women Leader’s Institute for Administrative Advancement.
Kara is a two-time graduate of the University of Louisville, earning her Bachelor of Science in Communication and English in 2013 and her Master of Science in Sport Administration in 2015. A native of Louisville, KY, Kara began her career in athletics as an adidas Intern.
