2014 (Louisville): In McVey’s first season with the Cardinals she appeared in 27 matches and had a team-high 406 digs (3.98/set). She was second on the team with 18 service aces. Roxanne had a season-high 27 digs at Minnesota. She recorded four service aces against Northern Illinois and notched two kills against Miami.
2013 (At Mississippi State): McVey tied her own record again in the 2013 season. Her 5.64 average this season ranks sixth-nationally. The Magnolia, Texas, native finished the season with an MSU single-season record 632 digs, once again breaking her own school record of 558 digs. McVey also ranks eighth all-time in MSU with 1,190 career digs. McVey earned SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors on Nov. 18 after posting 7.57 digs per set against then-No. 17 Kentucky and Georgia. Her 53 digs that weekend would only be out-done by a 55-dig weekend against Alabama and Tennessee to conclude the season.
2012 (At Mississippi State): Garnered MSU’s third SEC-All Freshman selection and started all of MSU’s 29 matches She Broke the SEC record with 5.64 digs per set and paced the SEC with 558 digs. She became the 20th player in NCAA history to record 50 digs in a match, also set an MSU record (50, vs. LSU on 9/28/12). She was named two-time SEC Freshman of the Week on August 27 and October 1.
Prep: Four-year standout performer as an outside hitter and libero at Tomball High School, Roxanne was coached by Cheryl Wallace. A four-time first-team all-district honoree, she paced THS in digs in four consecutive seasons. She registered 350 kills, 525 digs, 38 aces and 21 blocks as a senior in 2011 and was named to the 2011 Greater Houston Area All-Star Team. She finished with a career-high 351 kills and 563 digs as a junior and a career-best 587 digs as a sophomore in 2009. Tabbed as the 2008 district newcomer of the year, she played club volleyball six years with the Texas Tornadoes and Texas Pride coached by Jeff Ham and Kara Pratt. She earned academic all-state honors in 2011 and first-team academic all-district honors four times.
