She led the ACC in total digs (489); Has recorded double digit digs in 33 of 34 matches. She was voted MVP of the Cardinal Classic; Her 28 digs versus Illinois ranked second in the ACC. She had a receiving percentage of .943. Her 21 digs versus Boston College ranked third in ACC and her 28 digs vs. Illinois led the conference in four-set matches and is top for UofL this season. Kamden recorded her career-high in service aces in one game against Virginia Tech where she had four. She had a career-high in digs against Syracuse with 12. Kamden recorded 10 assists, with her career-high coming against SMU where she had three. Kamden also put her classroom skills on display, being named to the All-ACC Academic Team.Â
2023:Â Kamden played in 85 sets as a defensive specialist for the Cardinals. She recorded 10 aces with a total of 61 digs. She had a season-high two aces against Northern Kentucky, Kentucky, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech. She had a season-high six digs against Stanford. She had five digs against Wright State, Boston College, and at NC State. She had a kill against Kentucky and Wright State.
Prep: Kamden Schrand is a 5-6 libero from Villa Hills, Ky., where she played for Notre Dame Academy for Leslie Litmer and Jenna Leistner. She also played club volleyball for Tri-State Elite for Coach Matt Long. She was named the 2022 Kentucky Defensive Player of the Year and 2022 KVCA First Team All-State as she helped Notre Dame win its second state championship in three years. In 2022, she was the 9th Region Tournament MVP, and made the 35th District All-Tournament team as well as the Asics Challenge All-Tournament team. In 2021, she was named to the 9th Region All-Tournament team and the 35th District All-Tournament team. For the NKGVCA, she earned all-opponent Division I honors and was named the NDA Volleyball's Most Outstanding Defensive Player. She holds the NDA season record for aces and digs.
