After previously spending 10 years on staff at Louisville from 2013-22, Brooke Rasnick returned to Louisville's track and field coaching staff as an assistant coach working with pole vault on July 28, 2023.
Over the course of her time at UofL, Rasnick's athletes have earned one individual NCAA title, 10 USTFCCCA All-America honors, 15 NCAA Championships qualifications, two individual ACC titles, 37 All-ACC honors, 26 NCAA East Regional bids, 11 program records, and six freshman records.
In her second stint with Louisville, Rasnick has guided the Cardinal vaulters to one USTFCCCA All-America honor, three NCAA Championships qualifications, nine All-ACC honors, seven NCAA Regionals bids, four program records, and six freshman records.
2024-25
Indoor
During the 2024-25 indoor season, Rasnick led the women's pole vault group to a final UTSTFCCCA event squad ranking of third nationally with a four-person average of 4.29m. The group was led by Natalie Lark, who broke Gabriela Leon's indoor program record with a mark of 4.47m during a season where she was tabbed Honorable Mention All-American and earned her second consecutive silver medal in the event at the ACC Indoor Championships. Along with Lark's runner-up finish at the conference championship meet, Iliana Triantafyllou earned Second Team All-ACC honors with a fourth-place finish in the women's pole vault. Additionally, Lark and Ashley Callahan earned seventh and eighth, respectively, at the USATF Indoor Championships. On the men's side, Cade DeWitt reset his own program record in the men's pole vault with a clearance of 5.35m at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational.
Outdoor
Rasnick led the Louisville pole vault group to another strong showing during the 2025 outdoor season. Ashley Callahan led the charge, earning Second Team All-American honors after finishing in a tie for 12th in the women's pole vault at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, while also earning the silver medal in the event at the ACC Outdoor Championships. Rasnick also keyed Lucas Couron's rapid improvement in his first outdoor season for the Cardinals, where the junior tied for the runner-up spot in the men's pole vault at the ACC Outdoor Championships and also set a new program record in the men's vault with a clearance of 5.36m at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational.
2023-24
Indoor
During the 2023-24 indoor season, Rasnick helped Cade DeWitt become the first athlete in program history to win ACC Men's Freshman of the Year, while also being named ACC Men's Freshman of the Week three times over the course of the season. DeWitt also set a new school and freshman record in the men's pole vault during his rookie campaign on his way to a runner-up finish in the event at the ACC Indoor Championships, where Natalie Lark also claimed the silver medal in the women's pole vault. Rasnick also guided Ty McPhail to a fourth-place finish at the conference championship meet in the men's pole vault to earn Second Team All-ACC distinction during the indoor season for the first time in his career.
Outdoor
The 2024 outdoor season was headlined by an NCAA Outdoor Championships qualification from Natalie Lark, where she was tabbed an Honorable Mention All-American in the women's pole vault after a season where the senior finished as the runner-up in the event at the ACC Indoor Championships to earn First Team All-ACC laurels. Rasnick also guided Iliana Triantafyllou to a successful freshman season as the newcomer vaulted to a fifth-place finish in the women's pole vault at the ACC Indoor Championships before she set a new Louisville freshman record in the event with a season-best mark of 4.20m to close her season at the NCAA East Regional.
2013-22 - University of Louisville - Assistant Coach (1st stint)
During her first stint with the Cardinals from 2013-22, Rasnick coached Louisville’s first NCAA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field champion along with 12 USTFCCCA All-America honorees, five ACC champions, and saw her athletes set eight program records.
2021-22
At the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships, Rasnick guided Gabriela Leon to the first outdoor national championship for a Louisville female in program history, as she won the women's pole vault with a mark of 4.60m. With Leon's victory, Rasnick became the second female coach in history to coach a Division I national champion pole vaulter. Following the 2022 outdoor season, Leon was recognized as the USTFCCA NCAA Division I Outdoor Southeast Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year, ACC Outdoor Women's Field Performer of the Year, ACC Track & Field Female Scholar Athlete of the Year, and was nominated by the ACC for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
Along with Leon's victory, Rasnick also helped Sean Roth (men's pole vault) and Aliyah Welter (women's pole vault) to appearances at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships, while Leon also earned First Team All-American distinction at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships. From April 18-May 2, the Louisville women's pole vault group was ranked first in the USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings.
Following the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships, pole vaulters Gabriela Leon and Aliyah Welter were selected to compete in the 2022 Toyota USA Track & Field Outdoor Championship. Ty McPhail also qualified for the U20 Outdoor Championships in the pole vault.
Leon placed fourth at the Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships and qualified for entry to the 2022 World Athletics Championships where she advanced to the finals and finished 12th in the overall standings while competing for USA Track and Field.
Rasnick also coached six athletes to All-ACC honors at the 2022 ACC Outdoor Championships, including four athletes who finished on the podium. Leon won the women's pole vault, while Aliyah Welter placed third. In the men's pole vault, Sean Roth set a new outdoor school record to finish as the runner-up and McPhail placed third. Four of Rasnick's athletes also earned All-ACC distinction at the 2022 ACC Indoor Championships, including Leon's silver medal finish in the women's pole vault.
2020-21
During the 2021 season, Rasnick guided Aliyah Welter to a pair of Second Team All-American honors at the NCAA Indoor & Outdoor Championships, while also earning a runner-up finish in the women's pole vault at the ACC Indoor Championships. Leon won her first ACC title in the women's pole vault at the 2021 ACC Outdoor Championships while also setting school records in both the indoor and outdoor women's pole vault over the course of the season. Rasnick also helped Micah Oberhausen to a runner-up finish and First Team All-ACC honors in the men's heptathlon at the ACC Indoor Championships.
2019-20
The COVID-19 shortened season in 2019-20 was marked by Leon's advancement to the NCAA Indoor Championships after earning First Team All-ACC honors earlier in the year. Though the national championship meet was cancelled, Leon was recognized as an All-American.
2018-19
During the 2018-19 season, Rasnick helped four athletes to Second Team All-ACC distinction including Dominic McClinton in the men's heptathlon, Holly Hankenson in the women's heptathlon, Aaron Johnson in the men's decathlon, and Morgan Zacharias in the women's pole vault.
2017-18
The 2017-18 campaign was anchored by unprecedented success in the multis events, as Rasnick guided Holly Hankenson (women's pentathlon) and Joe Delgado (men's heptathlon) to All-American honors at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships, with both also capturing the indoor conference title in their respective events. Delgado was also named an All-American in the men's decathlon at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships, while Eric Fox won the ACC title.

Hankenson also earned All-American distinction in the women's pentathlon at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships, before finishing as an Honorable Mention All-American in the women's heptathlon at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

In 2015-16, Rasnick helped Chanel Krause to a berth at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Championships while guiding her to a pair of program records in the women's pole vault and All-ACC honors both indoors and outdoors. Rasnick also saw her multis group set multiple then-school records during the year with Eric Fox setting program-best marks in the men's heptathlon and decathlon and Holly Hankenson doing the same in the women's heptathlon and pentathlon.

During the 2014-15 season, Rasnick helped Krause become the first female pole vaulter in program history to qualify for the national championship meet when she punched her ticket to the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Along with Krause's NCAA qualification, Rasnick aided Marcus Motill (men's heptathlon) and Linda Mutter (women's heptathlon) to a pair of marks that stood as program records at the time.
2010-13 - Kent State University - Assistant Coach
Prior to originally joining the Louisville coaching staff, Rasnick spent four seasons (2010-13) at Kent State, where she mentored 13 All-MAC performers and led the women's team to five conference titles, including three straight outdoor MAC championships. Rasnick keyed the development of Kim Preston during her time with the Flashes, guiding Preston to the 2012 MAC indoor title in the women's pole vault.
2009-10 - University of Oregon - Assistant Coach
Rasnick began her coaching career at the University of Oregon during the 2009-10 season, helping Melissa Gergel to a pair of All-American honors in the women's pole vault, including a second-place finish at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships. Gergel also tied for third in the event at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championships and a third-place finish at the Pac-10 Outdoor Championships.
Personal
During her collegiate career at Wichita State, Rasnick qualified for the NCAA Championship meet twice in the women's pole vault while clinching a berth at the NCAA West Regionals four times. Finishing her career as a seven time All-MVC selection, Rasnick won the Missouri Valley Conference title in the women's pole vault in 2005. During her time at Wichita State, she held the distinction of team captain for two seasons and was instrumental in guiding the Shockers to five conference team titles.
