DeVante Frazier was named as Director of Sports Medicine for the University of Louisville men’s basketball program in May 2021.
Frazier had been the athletic trainer for men’s basketball, women’s tennis and men’s golf at Colorado State since July of 2019.
Before his stint at Colorado State, Frazier worked in the athletic training departments at IUPUI and Lamar University. He was with IUPUI from 2017-2019 where he served the men’s basketball, women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s golf teams, and the co-ed cheer squad as sole provider of their medical coverage. Additionally, he assisted the athletic department in creating a nutrition training station for all university athletes, hired student workers and budgeting for the nutrition center.
At Lamar, he provided medical coverage for the football team, track & field teams, as well as assisting with men’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis and golf. He also served as a mentor in Lamar’s athletic training internship program and helped in the development of aquatic rehabilitation programs for student-athletes.
Frazier earned his bachelor of science in athletic training from Valdosta State University in May of 2015, doing clinical rotations with the VSU basketball and football programs, in addition to local high school stops and a rotation at Moody Air Force Base (Ga.). He attained his master of science in kinesiology at Lamar in 2017. Frazier is a BOC certified athletic trainer, with NASM performance exercise and corrective exercise specializations. He also holds a certification in Dry Needling and has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association since 2013.
A native of Pembroke, Georgia, Frazier graduated from Bryan County High School. He and his wife Radhika have three dogs: Allie, Alexis and Layah.
