- Lexington Catholic produced a 24-8 record during his junior year and a 27-8 mark in his sophomore year in 2010-11, winning the 11th Region title.
- Hit a three-pointer at the buzzer in the district finals to lift Lexington Catholic over Lafayette as a junior.

Personal
- Born March 18, 1995 ... Son of Diane and Rick Avare ... Has one younger brother, Ryan ... Major is economics with a minor in finance.
- Personal goal at UofL is to “become the best player, teammate and student that I can be.”
- Best moment of his athletic career to date was hitting a free throw in the Elite Eight game vs. Michigan State.
- Enjoys playing ping pong and Super Smash Brothers in his spare time.
- Chose to attend UofL because “I wanted to go to a great university under the best coach there is to learn and grow in some way every day.”
- Best basketball advice given to him was “that I can do all things through Christ.”
- Most proud of “my failth, family and work ethic.”
- His dad has had the greatest influence on his athletic career.
- Feels Adam Sandler would be the best actor to play him in a movie.
- Few people know that he expects to graduate with a bachelor of science in economics in May of 2016.
- When he played basketball as a kid, he pretended he was Steve Nash.
- If you walked into his dorm room, the first thing you would notice is a cardinal bird picture.
- Best thing about being a Cardinal is the support from all of the students and fans.
- What impresses him the most about Coach Pitino is how he is committed to make every player the best they can be and he doesn’t settle for anything less.
- Would most like to meet Stephen Curry.
