Freshman Year:
- Averaged 10.4 points while shooting 60.6 percent from the field over the last 10 games, third best on the team in that stretch.
- Back in action for the first time in six games vs USF, producing his first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, both career highs.
- Matched a career high with 16 points at UConn, all in the first half, while adding six rebounds.
- Scored 12 points in 11 minutes against Stanford in the NCAA Tournament First Round.
- Played a season-high 27 minutes at Marquette with 14 points and two assists.
- Missed 16 games as a freshman due to off the court issues, playing in 18 games overall. Caracter missed five days in late December when he was given an indefinite leave of absense by Pitino so he could address personal issues. - Scored 16 points and blocked two shots in the Roundball Classic all-star game in Chicago, earning co-MVP honors for the East squad. He had 17 points and five rebounds in the adidas Derby Festival Classic all-star game in Louisville's Freedom Hall.
- Averaged 15.6 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.2 blocked shots as a junior for Coach Kevin Boyle in helping St. Patrick's High School to a 28-4 record, the NJSIAA Non-Public B championship and a No. 23 final national ranking in the USA Today Super 25 high school ratings.
- Totalled 23 points and 15 rebounds in the New Jersey state Tournament of Champions title game as St. Patrick's fell 63-60 to Seton Hall Prep.
- Ranked as the No. 6 prospect in the nation by The Hoop Scoop, 10th by Van Coleman, 12th by USA Today recruiting analyst Rob Harrington, 13th by Scout.com, 16th by Bob Gibbons All-Star Sports and 25th by RivalsHoops.
- Preseason All-America selection by Street & Smith's and was honored as the New Jersey Star-Ledger Junior of the Year.
- Played for the East team in the 2004 USA Basketball Youth Development Festival, recording 17 points and six rebounds in the bronze medal game.
- Also considered Memphis, Villanova, Rutgers, and Seton Hall before signing with the Cardinals.
