Freshman Year:
- Played in closing minutes three of the Cardinals’ 2020-21 early season games.
High School:
- Averaged 12.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 40 percent from three-point range as a senior at International Sports Academy at Andrews Osborne Academy in Willoughby, Ohio. He helped lead ISA to a 22-13 record in 2019-20.
- Honored as a second-team All-Ohio, non-OHSAA selection as a senior.
- As a junior in 2019, Colbert was a member of a Cincinnati Moeller squad that would repeat as state champions, becoming the first Division I team to go undefeated (29-0) in 24 years.
- In Moeller’s first game of its perfect season, Colbert scored 10 points in seven minutes on 3-of-4 shooting, including a pair of three-pointers, and grabbed two rebounds in an 85-42 victory over Bryan Station at Hillsboro High School. That season, he averaged 3.6 minutes per game while scoring 30 total points over his final 21 appearances.
- Following Moeller’s 52-44 win over Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary’s in the DI championship game, Colbert decided to leave Moeller for his senior season in an attempt to get more playing time, experience and exposure with the goal of hopefully landing on a college roster.
- Plans to pursue a career in finance through the UofL College of Business.
- His father John played baseball at Ohio University.
Personal:
- Born Aug. 4, 2001 ... Son of Andrea and John Colbert ... Has one younger brother: Zach ... Major is finance.
- Best moment of his athletic career to date was winning the 2019 Ohio state basketball championship and being undefeated as a junior at Cincinnati Moeller.
- Personal goal at UofL is “eventually earn minutes and to graduate.”
- In his spare time, he enjoys watching TV shows and movies, and exploring the city for the best restaurants.
- Chose to attend UofL because “I love the vibrant city, the great basketball program, and great business school.”
- Best basketball advice given to him was “it’s a marathon, not a sprint.”
- Most proud of “being able to be a part of the Louisville basketball team.”
- His parents have had the greatest influence on his athletic career.
- Feels Mark Wahlberg would be the best actor to play him in a movie.
- If you walked into his dorm room, the first thing you would notice is it’s very clean.
- Few people know that he played the piano for nine years.
- Best thing about being a Cardinal is the fan base.
- When playing basketball as a kid, he pretended he was Aaron Craft.
- Best athlete he ever faced was Jaxson Hayes and David Johnson.
- Would most like to meet Jesus Christ.
- What impresses him the most about Coach Mack: “his attention to detail and his knowledge of the game.”
