Carlos Dotson joined the Cardinals in August of 2026 as a Player Development Coach. He will spend his first season in Louisville with head coach Pat Kelsey for the 2026-27 season.

Dotson heads to The Ville by way of Clemson where he was most recently on the Tigers player development staff for the 2025-26 season where he overlapped with current Cards' associate head coach Sean Dixon. Prior to that, he spent one season (2024-25) with UCF in a dual role as player development staff and an assistant coach.

Dotson spent two seasons in the NBA before returning to the college ranks in 2024. He was a player development coach with the LA Clippers in 2023-24 and an assistant director in video with the Charlotte Hornets for the 2022-23 season. Prior to his time in the NBA, he was a graduate assistant at Clemson during the 2021-22 year.

Dotson began his collegiate playing career at Anderson University from 2015-17 before trasnferring to the College of Central Florida for the 2017-18 school year. He finished his playing career at Western Carolina (2018-2020) where he graduated with his bachelor's degree. He averaged 13.9 points and 9.5 rebounds per game his junior year with the Catamounts before averaging 15.5 points and 9.7 rebounds per game in his final season. He was named First Team All-SoCon and SoCon All-Tournament Team in 2020.

Dotson played professionally in France, Uruguay and Portugal before beginning his coaching career. He was born in Riverdale, Md., but grew up in Spartanburg, S.C.
