Mason Petrino was hired as a quality control specialist for offense at the University of Louisville in 2024.
Petrino comes to Louisville after spending one season as an assistant coach at UT Martin during the 2023 season, serving as the team’s wide receiver’s coach.
Before joining the staff at UT Martin, Petrino serve as an offensive graduate assistant at Purdue for the 2021 and 2022 campaigns. During his time with the Boilermakers, the program won a 2022 Big Ten West conference championship.
Prior to his role at Purdue, Petrino served as an offensive graduate assistant at Lamar University during the 2020 COVID-impacted season.
Petrino played 37 games at quarterback for Idaho where he played for his father, head coach Paul Petrino from 2016-19. He finished his career by completing 421-of-675 pass attempts (62.5 percent) for 4,310 yards and 35 touchdowns. Arguably his best game came in an overtime victory against Northern Arizona when he threw for a career-high 563 yards and seven touchdowns in the win.
Petrino graduated from the University of Idaho in 2019.
