Kienholz Named to Manning Award Stars of the Week List

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville quarterback Lincoln Kienholz was named one of the eight Stars of the Week by The Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
Kienholz was one of eight quarterbacks recognized after his strong performance in Louisville's 59-13 victory over Villanova on Friday night.
The Louisville quarterback racked up 374 yards of total offense and four touchdowns in the win.
Kienholz was 16-for-21 for 332 yards and two scores through the air. He also chipped in 42 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, as he had a hand in all four touchdowns the Cardinals scored in the opening half.
Kienholz is one of six FBS quarterbacks to throw for at least 300 yards in each of the first two games this season, and the first player in program history to do so in his first two games as a Cardinal.
The South Dakota native ranks second nationally in total offense, third in yards per attempt, fourth in yards per completion and QBR, ninth in passing efficiency and 10th in passing yards per game. Kienholz is also tied for 11th in the country in rushing touchdowns with three.
Kienholz and the Cardinals now turn their attention to their second ranked matchup in three weeks as they take on No. 16 SMU Saturday at L&N Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
