MEET THE CLASS OF 2022-23
Alicia Aebersold
Alicia Aebersold was born and raised in La Grange, KY. She attended Eastern Kentucky University, graduating in 2020 with a B.S. in Psychology, with a concentration in Brain & Cognitive Science and a minor in Political Science. During her time at EKU she interned for Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins from Kansas (2nd district) in Washington, D.C., worked as an alumni relations liaison, and was Chief External Affairs Officer of the local Kappa Alpha Theta chapter. After graduating in 2020, she worked at Morgan & Morgan as a legal assistant in premises liability cases. Alicia currently attends the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. Upon graduation, she would like to pursue a career in sports law. Alicia is also the proud dog mom of a beautiful St. Bernard, Baymax.
Hannah Bailey
Hannah Bailey attended Saint Mary's College of California where she earned her B.S. in Marketing. While at St. Mary's she was assistant to the Director of Athletic Marketing and competed on the lacrosse team. She moved to Louisville in August 2021 and is now in her second year of the Sports Administration master’s program.
Logan Baird
Logan Baird was born and raised in Louisville, KY. He grew up playing basketball and a lifelong Cardinals fan. He started working as a gameday intern with Marketing in 2021. He completed his BS in Sport Administration at UofL in 2022.
Kadence Baker
Kadence Baker was born and raised in Union, Kentucky. In 2016, she moved to South Carolina to attend Clemson University, where she completed a BA in English. Kadence is currently pursuing a Master's in Communication from the University of Louisville. She is a graduate teaching assistant for the Communication department and works in Student-Athlete Leadership and Development for Louisville Athletics.
Emily Bridges
Emily Bridges was born and raised in Paducah, KY. She began her educational career at the University of Louisville in 2019 and is currently a member of the Honors College, the Jones Scholars, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the SPAD Association Executive Council, and the Office of Admissions as a Cardinal Guide. Emily spent three years within the athletic department as a marketing game day intern supporting collegiate sports. She also worked major sporting events such as Super Bowl LVI (2022) and the Kentucky Derby (2021/22). Emily is the proud daughter of Sam and Stacey Bridges and has four siblings: Alyssa, Jared, Jacob, and Sarah. She is also the favorite aunt of Addi, Asher, and Hudson.
Amber Corvin
Amber Corvin was born and raised in Chilhowie, Va. In 2017, she moved to Banner Elk, NC and attended Lees-McRae College, where she played Softball for the Bobcats. After graduating in 2021 with a B.S. in Communication Art & Design, she moved to Louisville, KY to pursue her master's degree.
Rosie Devine
Originally from Colorado, Rosie moved to Ohio in 2014 and graduated high school in 2018. She then moved to Louisville to attend school and row for the UofL Women’s Rowing team. While being a student athlete, she also worked as an intern for the city’s pro soccer teams, Louisville City FC and Racing Louisville FC. After her time interning, Rosie accepted a Game Day Coordinator position with the club. She completed her B.S. in Sports Administration with a Minor in Communications from the University of Louisville ('22).
Gage Fiorentino
Gage Fiorentino was born in Las Vegas, NV and lived there until he was 10 when he moved to Granby, CT. He attended the University of Connecticut, earning a BS in Sport Management in 2021. At UConn he worked for Athletics Compliance and coached high school football back in his hometown of Granby. Gage is in his second year of UofL's Sport Administration Masters Program.
Morgan Flynn
Morgan Flynn grew up in Iowa City, IA before moving to the Des Moines area to pursue a Bachelor’s of Sport Administration at Simpson College. During undergrad, she was VP of Community Relations and Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Simpson College Tri Delta chapter, was the Sports Editor for The Simpsonian Student Newspaper, and was President of the Sport Administration Club. Morgan graduated summa cum laude in May 2022 and following graduation, worked full-time for the NAIA Eligibility Center prior to moving to Louisville.
Morgan has worked with Simpson College Athletics, Ripken Baseball, Iowa Cubs, Iowa Wild, NAIA, Drake Relays and the 2022 MLB Field of Dreams game series in a variety of marketing, eligibility/compliance, operations and hospitality roles. At Louisville, she is pursuing a Master’s of Sport Administration and is a part of the SPAD Association executive team.
Sam Gercak
Sam Gercak was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. He is currently in his senior year at UofL pursuing a degree in both Sport Administration and Accounting. During his time at UofL, Sam has been involved with the UofL Intramural Sports Department, the Cardinal Athletic Fund, and the Sports Information Department.
Destin Gilbert
Destin Gilbert was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. In 2016, he moved to Lafayette and attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. After graduating in 2021 with a BS in Sport Management, Destin worked for Mississippi State as a McLendon Fellow in their athletic department before enrolling in UofL's Sport Administration Masters program in the Spring of 2022. He plans on graduation in May of 2023.
Cole Harrison
Cole Harrison was born and raised in the small town of Yelm, WA. In 2017, he began his educational career at Eastern Washington University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Marketing. During his time at EWU, he was elected to two terms in student government, working closet with members of Athletics Administration, Advancement Department and Alumni Association and competed on the track and field team.
Cheyenne Jones
Cheyenne Jones was born and raised in Fuquay-Varina, NC. She graduated from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at University of Maryland. During her time at UMD, she competed on the track and field team as long sprinter for four years, was a member of SAAC, and a Gossett Fellow. Cheyenne is in her first year with the Louisville Athletics Internship Program with Student-Athlete Academic Services and Student-Athlete Leadership and Development.
Karthik Kalvakuri
Karthik Kalvakuri was born in India and moved to Louisville in 2017. He is majoring in Biology with a minor in psychology, set to graduate in the spring of 2023. He has been a photography intern with UofL Athletics for 3 years. He is passionate about telling stories through his photos.
Reigan Lines
Reigan is from Holland Patent, New York. She is the daughter of Jill Lines and the late Timothy Lines. She attended Mohawk Valley Community College for a year where she played softball. In 2020 she transferred to the University of Louisville where she joined the women’s rowing team. Reigan has interned with many organizations including an AHL hockey team, MASL soccer team, and the University of Louisville Athletic Department where she interned with the Athletic Director. She has an Associates in Sports Management and Business Administration from Mohawk Valley Community College (‘20) and B.S. in Sports Administration from the University of Louisville (‘22).
Paige McCormick
Paige McCormick was raised in Hudson, Ohio. In 2020, she moved to Louisville to start earning her undergraduate degree in Sport Administration while also being a member of the UofL Swim and Dive team. Paige completed her second season on the UofL swim team in the spring of 2022 where she participated in her second ACC Championship Meet and accomplished two all-time Top 10 swims for the program. Paige is interning with the Cardinal Athletic Fund.
Scott Price
Scott Price was born and raised in Bordentown, NJ. He attended Temple University in Philadelphia, receiving a bachelor's degree in Sport and Recreation Management. Scott is a former Athletic Facilities intern at the University of Pennsylvania and has experience working with organizations like the Trenton Thunder and the Philadelphia Union.
Lauren Rickert
Lauren Rickert is a Louisville native and Army veteran. She received her undergraduate degree in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville in 2021. She previously worked with the Louisville Bats as a stadium operations intern and spends her free time as the world’s best cat mom to three spoiled cats.
Taylor Starks
Taylor Starks was born in Louisville, Kentucky. Starks attended the University of Kentucky where she was a marketing intern for UK Athletics- working with the football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, gymnastics, and softball team. Starks earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from University of Kentucky in 2022. Taylor is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Sports Administration and will be interning for Louisville Athletics in the Marketing department.
Justice Steiner
Justice was born and raised in Battle Creek, MI. He began his higher education at Kellogg Community College for one year, before moving to Allendale, MI and attending Grand Valley State University. While at GVSU, he obtained a B.S. in Advertising and Public relations. In his final year with GVSU, Justice was a Sports Writer for the student newspaper, serving as the beat writer for volleyball and women's basketball. He also worked with GVSU Athletics as a Marketing and External Relations Intern.
Cortney VanLiew
Cortney was born and raised in Seymour, Indiana. She attended Florida Gulf Coast University, where she graduated Cum Laude in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree, majoring in accounting and minoring in Spanish. In 2022, she completed an MBA with an emphasis in data analytics. While at FGCU, she played both indoor and beach volleyball. She finished her indoor career as the program kill leader and was named two-time ASUN Conference Player of the Year. She was president of the FGCU SAAC from 2019-2021 and president of the ASUN SAAC in 2021-2022. She was inducted into the FGCU Hall of Fame Class of 2021. She has maintained a part-time job since the summer of 2020, while being a full-time student and competing year-round.
