2010: Taylor was selected for the USA National A2 team last summer after being named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team as a freshman. She was fourth on the team with 16 service aces and owns the team lead with 1,100 assists on the season. She was second on the team with 237 digs and reached the 40 assist plateau 10 times last season and had eight double-doubles. Against No. 24 Arizona, she had a career-high 50 assists at the Arizona Wildcat Classic and followed it up with 49 against Butler. In the win over Ohio, she had 36 assists and then 29 against Kentucky. She dished out 35 setting assists against #5 Illinois and 30 against Purdue during the BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge. She recorded her first double-double when she dished out 27 assists to go along with a career-high 12 digs against the Pirates. She notched her second straight double-double at Connecticut, where she dished out 24 assists to go along with 12 digs. Dishing out 23 assists, recording eight digs, she had four total blocks at St. John's. Against Notre Dame, she had 47 assists, 10 digs and four kills. She set a new career-high of 18 digs during U of L's win over Cincinnati and added four kills and three blocks. She dished out 32 assists to go along with seven digs against Lipscomb. Against #22 Tennessee, she dished out 38 assists to go along with five digs and three total blocks. At Marquette, she tied her career-high with 50 assists and then had 45 assists, five total blocks and six kills at Syracuse. In the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament, she posted her sixth double-double when she finished with 38 assists to go along with 14 digs against Seton Hall. Against Marquette during the semifinals of the BIG EAST Tournament, she finished with 37 assists to go along with 11 digs and four blocks. In the Championship, she recorded 34 assists to go along with three digs, three kills and four blocks.
High School: Taylor Brauneis, a setter for Stefanie Otto at Prairie Ridge High School, was nominated as one of the top 50 players the past three years by The Chicago Sun Times and was a member of the all-area second team her sophomore and junior year. In her sophomore year, she set a school record for most assists with 879. Taylor broke the school record for setting percentage, 99.9%, and kill blocks (128), during her junior year. She was nominated on Prep Volleyball as a Senior Ace. Playing for Eric Schulze at Club Fusion, her club team took first place at Nationals when she was sixteen years old when her team came from two games behind to win the first place match at Nationals. At age 17, she played on 18-Black and took fifth place at Nationals. The Fab 50 recruit led her team on a tour of Europe as well.
Personal: She is the daughter of Jerry and Carol Brauneis. Born Sept. 5, 1991. Major is undecided.
