2023-24: At the ACC Championships, she qualified for the B-final in the 500 free where she finished 12th overall with a time of 4:46.94. She was 33rd in the 200 free with a time of 1:48.67 and placed 14th in the 1650, going 16:39.78. During the dual meet season, she was second in the 1000 free 10:20.44. In the meet with Auburn, she was fifth in the 200 free (1:49.72), third in the 1000 free (10:03.01), fifth in the 500 free and 8th in the 100 free.
2022-23: Maddie continues to be a point producer in the distance events for the Cardinals. At the ACC Championships in Greensboro in 2022, she was 19th in the 500 free finals with a time of 4:48.49, dropping almost two seconds off her prelim time. She finished seventh in the 1650 free with a time of 16:24.26. At the meet with Tennessee, she was 7th in both the 500 free (5:05.67) and 1000 free (10:21.26). Against Indiana, she finished third in the 500 free with a time of 4:50.47 and was fourth in the 1000 free with a time of 9:56.68. Versus Kentucky, she was sixth in the 500 free (4:51.38) and fifth in the 1650 (16:35.68). At the Louisville Invitational, she won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:49.41. At the Tennessee Last Chance Meet, she put up a 16:30.95 in the 1650. A star student, she was named to the ACC Academic Honor and the University of Louisville AD Honor Roll.
2021-22: Luther continued to make a splash for the Cardinals during her sophomore campaign. At the ACC Championships, she finished 13th in the mile (16:34.54), 19th in the 500 freestyle (4:47.22), and 19th in the 200 freestyle (1:48.01). Throughout the abbreviated 2020-21 dual meet season, Luther posted six top-4 finishes highlighted by a win in the 1000 freestyle against Cincinnati. She also finished third in the 1000 freestyle against both Notre Dame and Kentucky.
2019-20: Luther had a breakout first year with the Cardinals, qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the 1650 freestyle before the meet was cancelled. At the ACC Championships, she finished 11th in the mile (16:30.60), 21st in the 500 freestyle (4:47.18), and 23rd in the 200 freestyle (1:48.66). She won the mile (16:27.04) at the Purdue Invitational where she also took ninth in the 500 freestyle (4:50.75) and 12th in the 200 freestyle (1:50.78). During the dual meet season, Luther had six top-five finishes which included a runner-up showing in the 1000 freestyle (10:31.10) against Xavier. For her performances in both the pool and in the classroom, Luther was named to the All-ACC Academic Team and awarded ACC Honor Roll and CSCAA Scholar All-America honors. She was also named to the CSCAA All-American team in the mile.
Prep: Luther arrives in The Ville from Saline, Michigan where she was an eight-time Michigan DI State Championship finalist for Saline High School. As a senior, she earned her third-straight title in the 200 free while recording her second-consecutive bronze medal in the 500 free. As a club swimmer with Saline Swim Team under coach Jeff Gross, Luther is a National-level qualifier who raced three events at the USA Swimming National Championships in 2018. The NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 200m free at the 2017 Futures Championships in Tennessee and finaled in that event at 2018 Juniors East. She owns best times of 1:47.69 in the 200 free and 4:51.67 in the 500 free.
