
Cards Earn NCAA Regional Bid to Athens

Lousiville men's golf will play in the Athens Regional at University of Georgia Golf Course May 18-20
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf team was selected as the No. 6 seed at the NCAA Athens Regional (Athens, Ga.) which will be played at the University of Georgia Golf Course on May 18-20, the Golf Channel and NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Cardinals were one of 52 at-large bids combined with 29 automatic qualifies to qualify for the six regionals. The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
UofL is making its eighth consecutive regional appearance and 16th overall trip in school history. In 2024-25, Louisville was the No. 5 seed in the Tallahassee Regional where it tied for seventh at the end of the 54-hole event.
The Cardinals, who are making their 11th postseason appearance in the last 13 years, recently advanced to the match play quarterfinals of the ACC Championship.
At the Athens Regional, Louisville is joined by (in seed order) top-seed Auburn, Illinois, Vanderbilt, BYU, Georgia, Kansas, Northwestern, College of Charleston, Rice, Southern Miss, Harvard and Howard.
Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 29-June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. Texas is the host institution for the 2026 championships.
