Cards Jump into Fourth Place at the ACC Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf team fired a 5-under-par 283 to vault into fourth place Friday at the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Shark's Tooth Golf Club in Panama City, Beach, Fla.
Entering the day in seventh place after carding a 2-over-par 290 on Thursday, the Cardinals moved to within three shots of second place Virginia at 6-under-par. Stanford continues to pace the field at 22-under-par heading into Sunday's final round of stroke play.
The 5-under-par round of 283 was the third-best team round of the day behind the 9-under-par shot by Virginia and Stanford and the fifth-best in school history.
Warren Thomis posted the team's top score of the day, posting a 5-under-par 67 to move up 17 spots into fourth place after the first 36 holes of action. He played 18 holes without recording a bogey and tallied five birdies for his round. His round of 67 equaled his previous best shot during the second round of the Blessings earlier this season.
The Richmond, Ky., native enters the final round four shots behind current lead Edan Cui of Stanford, who sits at 9-under-par.
Andrew Tan posted the second-best score on the day, shooting a round of 2-under-pat to move into a tie for 54th place.
Cooper Claycomb and Brady Smith are tied for 29th overall after shooting rounds of even-par and 2-over-par, respectively. Easton Johnson dropped into a tie for 38th place after he shot a second round of 75.
