Cards Strengthen Secondary with Three Transfers; Add Center from Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm added four more transfers to the Cardinals' roster, bringing the program's total to 29 newcomers during the transfer portal period.
Louisville strengthened its secondary with the additions of defensive backs Brycen Scott (Elon), Kaleb Beasley (Tennessee) and T.J. Banks (Mississippi). Center Evan Wibberley (Kentucky) also bolsters depth along the offensive line.
Scott spent two seasons at Elon, appearing in 20 games and totaling 44 tackles. During the 2025 season, he recorded career highs with 35 tackles and seven pass breakups. He posted a season-best seven tackles against East Tennessee State and added five tackles each versus Towson and William & Mary.
As a freshman in 2024, Scott played in 10 games for the Phoenix, finishing with nine tackles—seven solo—and one pass breakup. A product of Wilson High School, Scott was named team Most Valuable Player after recording 48 tackles as a senior. He completed his prep career with 79 tackles, five pass breakups, two interceptions, one forced fumble and two touchdowns.
Beasley transfers to Louisville after two seasons at Tennessee, where he appeared in 25 games. The 6-foot, 200-pound defensive back recorded 24 tackles in 2025, highlighted by a career-high four tackles and a 23-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the third quarter of a win over UAB.
As a true freshman in 2024, Beasley played in all 13 games, primarily on special teams, and finished with four tackles and one pass breakup. A native of Nashville, Tenn., Beasley was rated the No. 17 cornerback prospect nationally by On3, 247Sports and ESPN. He competed in the 2024 Under Armour All-America Game and totaled 24 interceptions during his high school career, including nine as a junior.
Wibberley brings experience from both Kentucky and Western Kentucky, appearing in 29 career games with 15 starts. He played four games at Kentucky in 2025, logging eight snaps at center and seeing action against Eastern Michigan, Tennessee, Florida and Vanderbilt.
Prior to his time at Kentucky, Wibberley spent three seasons at Western Kentucky, starting all 14 games at center in 2024. He helped lead the Hilltoppers to an 8–6 record and appearances in the Conference USA Championship Game and the Boca Raton Bowl.
Banks joins the Cardinals after two seasons at Mississippi. In 2025, he appeared in 14 games with one start at safety, totaling 20 tackles, including 11 solo stops. He recorded a career-high four tackles—three solo—while playing 41 snaps against Kentucky.
As a freshman in 2024, Banks played in nine games, contributing on both defense and special teams while recording four tackles. A unanimous four-star prospect by all major recruiting services, Banks was ranked No. 145 nationally in the ESPN300. He competed in the 2024 Under Armour All-America Game and the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game, and earned first-team Tuscaloosa News Class 7A–4A honors as both a junior and senior.
