After falling behind early, the Cardinals tied the score twice in the first half then took a 5-2 lead in the second half and held off an Indiana charge to win 5-4. The Cardinals improve to 3-1 on the season and the Hoosiers drop to 2-2.
"It was a battle," said UofL head coach Justine Sowry. "It was a great game to watch, I'm sure because there was a lot of up and back, but I'm just so proud of the team right now. To turn around their performance from yesterday's game to today. We were so much more connected on both sides of the ball. But it was a game, obviously we executed on the front end and defensively we've got to tidy up a little bit. Indiana is a tough team and a tough team to play away, so I am super proud."
Â
Annabel Sep, Gigi Edwards, Chloe Cuzzupe, Aubreigh Uba and Izzy Bianco each registered a goal and Sophia Parker delivered three assists to lead the Cardinals offensively. Emily Young recorded one save en route to the win.

Â
The teams entered halftime with the score knotted at 2-2 after Louisville held a 6-3 advantage in shots and a 2-0 edge in corners.
Â
The third quarter featured a flurry of offense from the Cardinals who scored a pair of goals in a one-minute span to take a 4-2 lead.
Â
In the fifth minute of the frame, the Cardinals drew back-to-back penalty corners and converted on the second of those when Cuzzupe deflected a shot by Sep to put Louisville on top 3-2 with 5:15 left to play. Less than a minute later, Uba made good on the attempt for her first career goal.
Â
Louisville continued its attack in the fourth quarter with another penalty corner strike. This time, Parker inserted and Rylie Wollerton stopped the ball for Bianco whose first goal of the season put the Cards on top 5-2.
