Cardinals in Third After First Round of Blessings Collegiate

Bailey Burkett leads the team after the first 18 holes
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Louisville women's golf team is in third place overall after the first round of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational Monday afternoon from the Blessings Golf Club. The Cardinals shot 15-over-par 303 in the first round with two players in the Top 10 and one more in the Top 15 of the individual leaderboard.
Coming off a strong showing at the Mason Rudolph Championship, Bailey Burkett continued to play well for the first round on Monday. Burkett was 2-under-par over her first nine holes, tallied four birdies for the afternoon and is tied for sixth overall after an opening round 2-over-par 74. Her four birdies on the day led the team.
Freshman Madison Moman was right behind Burkett with a 3-over-par 75 in the first round. She had two birdies for the round and is tied for eighth overall. Veronika Exposito is tied for 11th overall after a 4-over-par 76 in the first round. She had two birdies on the front nine and was even-par over her final nine holes of the day.
Millie Cottrell carded a 6-over-par 78 and is tied for 26th overall after the first 18 holes. Thienna Huynh rounded out the scoring for the Cardinals, as she is tied for 41st overall after an 8-over-par 80 on Monday.
The Cardinals will be back out on the course on Tuesday morning for the second round of the tournament. The Cardinals will tee off as a team from Hole No. 10 at 10:45 a.m. ET. Fans can follow the live stats here or on our social media channels.
