LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville field hockey team will play host to Bellarmine in a preseason scrimmage Friday at 3 p.m. at Trager Stadium. Admission is free.

• The Cardinals return 17 letterwinners after a rebuilding year that saw a 6-11 overall record and a 1-7 mark in ACC play. Louisville also welcomes six newcomers to this year's squad.
• Senior Izzy Bianco was selected to the 2025 Preseason All-ACC Field Hockey Team. The midfielder is coming off of a solid junior campaign which culminated in NFHCA All-West Region honors.
• Senior forward Rylie Wollerton returns as the Cardinals' leading scorer after tallying a career-high seven goals, two assists and 16 points.
• Wollerton and Bianco, along with junior foward Lauren Masters, are members of the U.S. Junior National Team. The trio recently helped the USA to a silver medal in the Junior Pan American Games in August.
• The 2025 Louisville field hockey co-captains are Bianco, senior back Tatum Kroon senior midfielder Chloe Cuzzupe.
• The Cardinals were picked to finish eighth in the ACC preseason coaches poll.
• The 2025 schedule features 11 opponents who finished the 2024 season among the top 20 in the final National Field Hockey Coaches Association rankings – with six teams standing in the top 10. Eight of Louisville's 2025 opponents were NCAA tournament teams last season including national champion Northwestern and runner-up Saint Joseph's along with semifinalist North Carolina.
• Louisville's Trager Stadium will serve as the host site for the 2025 ACC Championship. The Cardinals last hosted the event in 2017 when they advanced to the title game.

HEAD COACH JUSTINE SOWRY
Justine Sowry is entering her 15th season at the helm. During her tenure, Sowry has guided the Cardinals to nine NCAA tournament appearances, advancing to the quarterfinals in three of the last six years and reaching the semifinals in 2020.Â

SCOUTING BELLARMINE
Bellarmine enters the 2025 season under the direction of new head coach Toby Platt. Last season the Knights posted a 4-13 overall record and went 1-7 in Mid-American Conference play. Back from last year's team are 2024 MAC All-Freshman Team honorees Skylar Sokal and Luna Tuncay.Â

The Cardinals will continue preseason action on Sunday when they travel to Oxford, Ohio to face Miami (Ohio) in another scrimmage. Louisville will officially open the season on August 29 when Michigan State visits Trager Stadium.
