Cardinals Add Mouhamed Camara

Camara heads to The Ville via the NBA Academy in Africa
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's basketball program and head coach Pat Kelsey announce Thursday the signing of Mouhamed Camara to the 2025-26 roster.
"Mo is a big-time athlete who has the ability to be an elite defender early in his career," said Kelsey. "He can guard every position on the floor and disrupts both on the ball and at the rim. He has great tools and a mindset that craves coaching, which will allow him to develop quickly. He will be playing on an experienced, veteran team which will allow him to learn and grow daily. We are very excited to have him here at Louisville."
The 6-8 forward heads to The Ville from the NBA Academy in Africa. He competed in the FIBA AfroBasket qualifiers in 2025 as a member of Senegal's Senior National Team, helping them qualify for the official tournament played in August in Angola.
During the 2024 NBA Academy Winter Tour, Camara showed off his defensive prowess with multiple games of three or more blocks and steals. He logged four blocks and eight steals against the NBA Global Academy on Dec. 20 and had three and three against the NBA Latin America Academy on Dec. 21.
