 LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville rowing team will return to action this weekend when the Cardinals head to Raleigh, N.C., to compete in the prestigious Lake Wheeler Invitational which will be co-hosted by Duke and North Carolina on Friday and Saturday.

The highly-competitive field consists of 18 teams, four of which are ranked among the Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association top 25 including: No. 12 Virginia, No. 18 Duke, No. 20 Columbia and No. 24 North Carolina. Fellow ACC schools Boston College, Clemson and Miami are also among the schools competing as well as Boston University, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Jacksonville, Kansas, Navy, Rhode Island, Tulsa, Villanova and Washington State.

Louisville will have boats competing in the varsity eight, second varsity eight, third varsity eight, varsity four and second varsity four races.

Friday's first session begins at 9:30 a.m. and will run until approximately noon. The second session is slated for a 2:15 p.m. start and will run until around 5 p.m. Â Saturday morning races start at 9:00 a.m. and will run until approximately 11:45 a.m. Visit here for the complete schedule and results.

This marks the fourth race of the spring for the Cardinals and the second straight weekend of competition. Last week, Louisville earned four medals, including gold for the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8 and Novice 4 and a silver for the Varsity 4A at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship Regatta in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
Following this weekend, the Cardinals will prepare for the 2025 ACC Rowing Championships which will be held May 16-17 in Clemson, S.C.
