The University of Louisville rowing team will open the 2025 spring season this weekend with the 13th Annual Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational at Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
The Cardinals are hosting an eight-team field that features four teams ranked in the 2024 Preseason Pocock Collegiate Rowing Association Poll in No. 15 Indiana, No. 16 Duke, No. 18 Notre Dame, No. 19 Alabama. Other participating teams include Navy, North Carolina and Wisconsin.

The ORCI is slated to begin Saturday at 9:15 a.m. (ET) with 3V8 and Novice 8 boats with 2V4 race wrapping up day one at 5:37 p.m. Sunday's action will start at 8:34 a.m. (ET). The full schedule, heat sheet and results can be accessed here.

"The team seems to be eager to line up with the other programs and kick off the season. We haven't been able to field all of the events the last few years and are excited to be able to race all the events that we will be participating in at ACCs later this Spring.

Unfortunately, there is a major storm system forecasted to be in our area throughout racing. We hope for a break in the weather so that everyone can have safe and worthwhile racing. Although no alternative formats have been discussed yet, we will remain flexible and adaptive.

We have restructured a lot of our practice times and frequency this year. This takes a lot of adjustment by the athletes, and the coaches are appreciative of their ability to adapt. This has led to a great training camp this last week, and the progress is likely to continue."
