Doubles Tandem Bows Out of NCAA Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Louisville men's tennis duo of Andre' Steinbach and Matei Onofrei dropped their opening match to the No. 5-8 seeded Ohio State pair on Wednesday night.Â
Steinbach and Onofrei were matched up against ITA's No. 15-ranked duo of Aidan Kim and Bryce Nakashima who were one of eight pairs to receive a seed in the tournament.Â
The Louisville tandem won the first game of the match, but the Ohio State pair took control of the set by winning six straight games.Â
With a set advantage, the Buckeyes duo carried their momentum into the second set to advance with a 6-1, 6-1 win over the Cards tandem.Â
The loss ends the fall run for Louisville. The Cards will be back in action in January with the team's spring season to be announced soon.Â
