
Lacrosse Welcomes Eight in Class of 2026

Kate Barisonek, Lauren Barisonek, Kate Broad, Alex Chamberlain, Sophia Dapper, Colby Johnson, Mollie Kraemer and Nora Lopes will join the Cardinals in the fall of 2026
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville lacrosse head coach Scott Teeter has announced the addition of eight prospective student-athletes as part of the incoming 2026 class. Kate Barisonek, Lauren Barisonek, Kate Broad, Alex Camberlain, Sophia Dapper, Colby Johnson, Mollie Kraemer and Nora Lopes will join the Cardinals in the fall of 2026.
"We are very excited to welcome these fantastic individuals to the Louisville Lacrosse family," said UofL head coach Scott Teeter. "They come from some of the traditional hotbeds of lacrosse all over the United States – Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, Florida, California – and play for some outstanding club teams."
Louisville lacrosse continues a longstanding tradition of Cardinals who played alongside their sisters with the addition of twins Kate and Lauren Barisonek from Long Valley, New Jersey where they helped West Morris Central to the 2025 Freedom Blue Conference Championship.
Kate Barisonek
Position: Attack
Hometown: Long Valley, New Jersey
High School: West Morris Central
Athletic Highlights:
Kate Barisonek, the Wolfpack's 2025 Offensive MVP scored 61 goals with 43 assists as a junior, securing second team all-Morris County honors. She is also a two-time all-league selection, earning first team distinction in 2025. As a sophomore, she was named to the all-league second team and was an all-county honorable mention.

Lauren Barisonek
Position: Defense
Hometown: Long Valley, New Jersey
High School: West Morris Central
Athletic Highlights:
Lauren Barisonek was an integral part of Morris Central's defense, helping the Wolfpack to the 2025 Freedom Blue Conference title, earning second team all-conference honors. In 2023, she was named her school's Rookie of the Year.

Kate Broad
Position: Attack
Hometown: Leesburg, Va.
High School: Riverside High School
Athletic Highlights:
Kate Broad comes to Louisville from Leesburg, Va., where she helped Riverside High School to the 2025 Virginia Class 5 Championship and garnered district, region and state Class 5A Player of the Year honors. The attacker has been a prolific scorer with 253 career goals thus far, including 98 her junior season. Additionally, she has delivered 103 career assists for the Rams, dishing out 42 in 2025. She is a two-time All-State selection (2024, 2025) was named to the All-Met second team (2025).

"Kate has a nose for the goal. She's a very strong attacker with a tremendous shot and will be an offensive threat for Division I goalies. She is a pure goal scorer."
Alex Chamberlain
Position: Attack
Hometown: Novato, California
High School: San Marin High School
Athletic Highlights:
Alex Chamberlain will join the Cardinals from Novato, Calif., where she helped San Marin High School capture the 2024 North Coast Section Division 2 title. The attacker has tallied 169 career goals and 70 assists throughout her career while earning a pair of first-team all-league honors her sophomore and junior seasons. Chamberlain is a dual sport athlete who also plays soccer.

Sophia Dapper
Position: Goalie
Hometown: Naples, Florida
High School: Community School of Naples
Athletic Highlights:
Sophia Dapper comes to Louisville from Naples, Fla., and helped the Community School of Naples to three district titles along with a regional championship and state tournament appearance in 2025. The goalie has served as the Seahawks team captain the past two seasons and is a three-time all-county, all-district and all-region honoree.

"Sophia is a traditional stopper with an excellent lacrosse IQ. I think what fascinated us about her mentality is that she plays with a ton of energy and leaves it all on the field every single day that she's out there. She will be counted on to anchor our defense and be that backbone in the future from the goaltending position."
Colby Johnson
Position: Midfield
Hometown: Urbana, Maryland
High School: Urbana High School
Athletic Highlights:
Colby Johnson joins the Cardinals from Urbana, Md., where she helped Urbana High School to a pair of state championship finals along with the regional and county title. The midfielder has registered 154 career goals and 51 assists through out her career, earning first team all-state and all-county honors. The multi-sport athlete also competed in soccer, basketball and flag football.

Mollie Kraemer
Position: Defense
Hometown: Ridgewood, New Jersey
High School: Ridgewood High School
Athletic Highlights:
Mollie Kraemer hails from Ridgewood, N.J., and is a three-year varsity starter for Ridgewood High School, helping the Maroons to a pair of Bergen County Championships (2023, 2025) as well as the Group 4 New North title and the Group 4 New Jersey State Championship in 2023. The defender has collected 63 ground balls along with 34 caused turnovers throughout her career and earned all-county third team at-large honors. Kraemer is a multi-sport athlete who also competed in track and volleyball

"Mollie Kraemer has a championship mentality. She has won a high school championship and brings a strong work ethic to our defensive core. She is a solid on-ball defender who makes excellent contact and will give attackers a tough time getting to our goal."
Nora Lopes

Hometown: Annapolis, Maryland
High School: Broadneck High School
Athletic Highlights:
Nora Lopes comes to Louisville from Annapolis, Md., where she has helped Broadneck High School to the Maryland 4A state title in each of her years there. In 2025, she was named a USA Lacrosse High School All-American and collected all-metro and all-county first team honors as a midfielder. Lopes also competed in cross country.
