Louisville Looks for Bounce Back Against Clemson
November 10, 2025 | Football
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Jeff Brohm, regarded as one of the best in the game at making adjustments, heads into this week looking to bounce back with a win over Clemson, Friday night on ESPN.
Louisville suffered an unexpected loss to Stanford last season. Following that loss, the Cardinals rattled off three straight victories to end the season, including a Sun Bowl victory over Washington.
This past Saturday the Cards fell to California 29-26 in overtime, in a similar type of game. UofL will look to repeat recent history and go on a run to end the season, starting Friday night against Clemson.
"Ready for a tough football game this Friday night. Great opportunity to play a really good football game. It will be a tough matchup for us." Brohm stated.
Focusing on the details and getting back to the basics are key for Louisville, in order for a strong finish down the stretch. The Cards have to learn from their mistakes, while also fixing them. These aspects will be important, as they welcome in a Clemson team and coaching staff with a championship pedigree.
"We can learn a lot from [the loss], without question. We spent all day yesterday doing that and dissecting that, going through that in detail. It was just some small things here and there that we could have done better in all aspects." Brohm commented.
This is a Tigers program that is led by two-time national championship winning head coach Dabo Swinney. They have appeared in the College Football Playoff, five of the last 10 seasons.
Clemson (4-5, 3-4 ACC) comes in having an unfamiliar struggling season. After a tough start to the season, they've steered the ship back in the right direction, winning three of their last five games. Averaging 34.4 points per game during that span. But the talent still remains all over the field for the Tigers and provides challenges for this UofL team.
"We don't look at their record, we look at film and talent, and they are a very talented team. They have very talented players, NFL prospects in a ton of positions, they have won at a high level in the past and there's still a lot of season left to play." Brohm added.
Clemson provides an opportunity, as well as a fierce challenge, for the Cards to get back in the win column and clean up their mistakes with three games remaining on the regular season schedule.
"We have to prepare well and go out there to find a way to execute better for all 60 minutes and find a way to win." Brohm said
