
Cardinals Travel to ACC TipOff on Tuesday

Head coach Jeff Walz, Tajianna Roberts and Laura Ziegler will represent the Cards
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville women's basketball team will be well-represented at Tuesday's 2025 ACC Women's Basketball TipOff as head coach Jeff Walz, senior Laura Ziegler and sophomore Tajianna Roberts will attend the event at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown in Charlotte, N.C.
Coach Walz and the players will have a press conference that will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra starting at 10:30 a.m. ET. Fans can watch the press conference via the link here. Roberts and Ziegler will have a live segment on ACC Network starting at 9:45 a.m. before the press conference. Coach Walz will be live on ACC Network later in the morning at 11:30 a.m.
The Louisville contingent will also take part in various interviews and media opportunities throughout the morning. Fans can keep an eye on the festivities by following Louisville women's basketball on social media and using the hashtag #ACCTipoff.
Roberts is in her second season with the Cardinals and is coming off a strong freshman campaign. Roberts was one of the best freshmen in the league last season, as she earned a program record five ACC Rookie of the Week honors. Roberts was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team along with Second Team All-ACC honors. She is one of just two freshmen that earned All-ACC honors. Roberts led the team with 1.7 steals per game and was second on the squad with 12.8 points per game last season.
Ziegler comes to the Cardinals after spending three seasons at Saint Joseph's. She is coming off a standout junior season where she was a finalist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year award. Last season with the Hawks, she led the A-10 with 10.4 rebounds per game and was second in the conference with 17.5 points per game. She was the third player in Saint Joseph's program history to record 500+ points, 200+ rebounds and 100+ assists in a single season. Ziegler was a first team All-Conference honoree in each of the last two seasons.
Walz is entering his 19th season as the head coach of the Cardinals with a 486-146 record and is the all-time winningest coach in program history. The Cards are coming off their 15th-straight 20-win season, which is the fourth longest active streak in the country and the longest active streak in the ACC. Louisville won 13 ACC games last season, the 11th-straight season with 12 or more conference wins. No other ACC team has won 10 conference games or more in each of the last 11 seasons.
Louisville opens the 2025-26 campaign in Ramstein, Germany against the reigning national champion UConn Huskies as part of the Peraton Armed Forces Classic on Tuesday, November 4. The home opener will be on Sunday, November 9 when the Cards take on Northern Kentucky at 2 p.m. ET at the KFC Yum! Center.
