Ahouda awarded tournament’s Outstanding Player

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team wrapped up competition at the Crimson Tide Fall Challenge with Walid Ahouda being named the tournament's Outstanding Player alongside Loan Lestir of Ole Miss.

Ahouda went undefeated in singles competition with two of his wins coming in straight sets and he took away one doubles win alongside partner Hamza El Amine. Junior Russell Lokko also went 3-0 in singles competition and claimed a doubles victory with Matei Onofrei.

Day One (Oct. 24) - Vanderbilt vs. Louisville
The two teams split doubles competition with Louis Chusseau and Onofrei grabbing a 6-1 win over Donghyun Hwang and Callum Markowitz.

Ahouda claimed the lone singles victory for the Cards dual match with a 6-3, 6-3 upset over No. 46 Danil Panarin. El Amine and Onofrei both fell to Vanderbilt players in straight sets while Chusseau fell in a third set tiebreak.

Lokko suited up over the weekend, but his matches didn't count for Louisville's hidden dual total against the Commodores nor the Tigers on day two. He faced off against Ole Miss' Gordon Whitwell in singles and won in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.

Day Two (Oct. 25) - Auburn vs. Louisville
The Cards only played in one doubles match and three singles matches on Saturday since a Tigers player had to withdraw due to injury. Hamza El Amine and Walid Ahouda took down the Auburn sibling duo of Billy Blaydes and Freddy Blaydes by a score of 6-2.

Ahouda continued his singles winstreak with a come from behind victory over Billy Blaydes by a score of 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. El Amine dropped his match in straight sets while Chusseau got a first set lead but ultimately fell in the three sets.

In a separate set of matches, Lokko completed his sweep in singles competition with a win in straight sets over Hwang of Vanderbilt.

Day Three (Oct. 26) - Alabama vs. Louisville
The Cards and Crimson Tide kicked off the final by splitting doubles competition. The duo of
Lokko and Onofrei claimed a dominant 6-1 win over the pair of Brendan Loh and Vit Kalina.

Walid Ahouda claimed the only singles victory for the Cards on day three, defeating Andrii Zimnokh in straight sets by a score of 6-3, 7-5 to wrap up the competition for Louisville.
