
Cards Open Fall Season Against Bellarmine

Louisville will play host to Bellarmine in a doubleheader Friday at 5 p.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville softball team will open fall play this weekend when the Cardinals host Bellarmine in a doubleheader on Friday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. at Ulmer Stadium. The event is open to the public and admission is free.

Venue: Don Dobina Field at Ulmer Stadium
Admission: Free
Gates Open: One (1) hour prior to first pitch
Clear Bag Policy: A Clear Bag Policy remains in place at all UofL athletics facilities. Fans may bring one clear bag, either a one-gallon clear Ziploc-style storage bag, or a 12 x 6 x 12 inches clear tote bag.
Parking: Fans are encouraged to park in the Floyd Street Parking Garage for a $5 fee.

Friday's twin bill kicks off five weekends of competition for the Cards as they prepare for the upcoming season. The 2024-25 UofL squad will take the field with a roster that features 13 returners, including 2023 All-ACC selections Easton Lotus and Alyssa Zabala. Additionally, Louisville welcomes nine newcomers including seven freshmen and two transfers.

The Cards finished the 2024 season with a 27-25 overall record and 8-16 mark against ACC opponents.Â

Scouting the Knights:Â
Bellarmine is coming off of a 2024 campaign in which the Knights registered a 13-32-1 overall record and 5-17-1 mark in the ASUN. The Knights are led by head coach Caitlyn de la Haba who is entering her second season with the team.

Following this weekend's action, the Cardinals will travel to Eastern Kentucky to face the Colonels in a doubleheader on Oct. 6 that starts at 1 p.m.
