Hinson Lifts Pitt Over Louisville in Road Matchup

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Kaleb Glenn had a career-high 17 points, but Louisville men's basketball couldn't contain Pitt's Blake Hinson in an 86-59 road loss.

Hinson had a career-high 41 points for the Panthers, including 27 in the first half. He finished 9-for-13 from 3-point range.

"He has unlimited range," UofL head coach Kenny Payne said. "He's big and strong, and we knew he was going to get some baskets, but we want those baskets to be hard. We talked all week about every basket he gets, make it as hard as possible. You lose him for a second, and he ends up biting us. That's not the way we want to play this game."

The freshman forward Glenn had 15 points in the first half, tying his career, helping Louisville (8-18, 3-12 ACC) to an early 12-11 lead.

Pitt used a 10-0 run to pull in front for good and led 37-27 at the break.

The Panthers (17-8, 8-6) picked up where they left off out of halftime with consecutive 3s to start the second half. The final score represented their largest lead of the game.

Sophomore guard Tre White had his fourth double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Cardinals, who were outrebounded 36-27 and gave up 15 Pitt 3-pointers as a team.

Redshirt sophomore guard/forward Mike James chipped in 13 points, five assists and five rebounds for UofL, and junior forward Brandon Huntley-Hatfield added 12 points.

Louisville returns home to host Notre Dame at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday at the KFC Yum! Center. The game will air on ESPNU.
